Edna M. Lipp

East Palestine - August 26, 2006 Edna M. Lipp, age 94, of 375 East Grant Street, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Lipp was born October 28, 1911 in East Palestine, a daughter of William F. and Sylvia Hill Hughes and had lived in East Palestine most of her life.

She had been employed as a floor supervisor for 42 years at the former Electrical Refractories, East Palestine, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine.

Her husband, Archie M. Lipp, whom she married August 8, 1933 died December 29, 1985.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Nelson (Margie) Early of Willow Springs, NC and Mrs. Catherine Wylie of Charleston, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Wayne Hughes and Thomas Dale Hughes are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, with the Reverend Dr. H. Gene Toot officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.
