Edith A. Spooner, 94, formerly of Jimtown Road, East Palestine, died at 11:35 p.m. at Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
Mrs. Spooner was born July 23, 1913 in Darlington Township, Beaver County, PA, a daughter of Clark I. and Agnes K. Tyson McCowin and had lived in this area most of her life.
She was a decorator for Homer Laughlin Pottery Company, Newell, WV retiring in 1972. She had also worked for the former W.S. George Pottery Company for more than 25 years.
Her husband Russell Spooner, whom she married October 29, 1938 died May 9, 1989.
She is survived by four sisters, Pearl Dunham of Chippewa, PA, Frances Young, Luella (Ross) Brunner and Shirley (Luster) Mellinger all of Columbiana.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Olive Durk and four brothers, Ralph, Everett, David and Paul McCowin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana with Reverend John Bartholomew of Zion Hill Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday before the service.
