Edith May Oeler, 90, of 20 James Street, died Friday morning at the home of her daughter in Burnsville, NC.
Mrs. Oeler was born May 23, 1918 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Merlin and Clara Riesen Flohr and had lived in this area all of her life.
Edith was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and an avid bowler.
Her husband, William F. Oeler, whom she married September 17, 1940 died December 27, 1999. A sister, Agnes Ford also preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Guy of Indian Harbour Beach, FL; a son, Ray Oeler of Columbiana; a sister, Mrs. Herbert (Dorothy) Poulton of Mission Viejo, CA; a brother, Charles (Elizabeth) Flohr of Columbiana; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana, with the Reverend Thomas G. Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
