Edith H. Long

Petersburg-January 26, 2009-Edith H. Long, formerly of Petersburg, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Boardman.

Mrs. Long was born April 5, 1918 in New Waterford, a daughter of Samuel and Lizzie Seidner Kibler and had lived in this area all of her life.

Edith worked as a cashier in the cafeteria for Springfield Local High School for 15 years. She had attended Mt. Calvary Community Church

Her husband, Joe E. Long, whom she married December 11, 1946 died January 27, 1975.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Kenneth) Porter of Bessemer, PA; two sons, Larry (Marilyn) Long of Youngstown and Mark Long of Petersburg; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Three brothers preceded her in death, Russell, Roy and Clifford Kibler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Joe Congemi officiating. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
