"TOGETHER FOREVER"
Columbiana – Eddie Ray Kay, 85, died at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at his home.

Eddie was born December 13, 1929, in Dunbar, West Virginia, a son of the late Virgil H. and Elma Whalley Kay.

Mr. Kay served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had been employed as a utility man for Columbiana Pump Company. Mr. Kay was a musician that frequently played at nursing homes for their residents and was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church.

His wife, the former, Beverly Jean Frontz, whom he married June 6, 1952, died December 15, 2011.

He is survived by three daughters, Jackie A. (Randy) McKay of Lisbon, Barbara (Gary) Brunckhorst of Boardman, and Alisza L. (Gregg) Mershimer of Austintown; a son, David L. (Janet) Kay of Canton; a sister, Donna Merritt of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Olive Asberry, Lillie Lane, Hazel Nesselrotte and Flossie Ludwig.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Michael Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens where military honors will be accorded by the honor guard from Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion, Columbiana.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday.
