Columbiana-January 13, 2011-Earl Samuel Keslar, 97, died Thursday at 7:52 p.m. at Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
Mr. Keslar was born April 30, 1913 in Scottdale, PA, a son of Bruce and Margaret McIntosh Keslar and lived in the Columbiana area most of his life.
Earl was a self employed electrician and a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, Salem. He was in the U.S. Navy during WW II, serving as a Fireman First Class in the Pacific.
His wife, the former Helen Mae Dyke, whom he married January 16, 1935, preceded him in death on January 28, 2002.
He is survived by a daughter, M. Jane (Earl) Corey of Columbiana; two grandchildren, Susan Quinlan of Youngstown and Brenda Covert of Columbiana; four great grandchildren, Michael Covert, Nicole Rosario, Stephanie Quinlan and Briana Reyes; and two great great grandchildren, Aiden Rosario and Sadie Hammar.
A sister, Martha Wassink and three brothers, Howard, Bruce and Robert Ray Keslar also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Clarence Mansfield, Minister officiating. Burial will follow at the Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
