Salem - November 7, 2008 - Dwayne R. Hofmann, 68, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Friday morning while deer hunting.

Mr. Hofmann was born March 1, 1940 in Canfield, a son of the late Frank W. and Alberta M. Johnson Hofmann and lived in this area all of his life. He was a member of the Franklin Square United Methodist Church.

He had been employed as a craftsman at the General Motors Lordstown Plant for 30 years, retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy L. Crowl Kyser, whom he married November 30, 2002; three daughters, Deborah Turnbull of Canfield, Laura Lightner of Jacksonville, FL, and Michelle Wrobleski of Peachtree City, GA; two sons, Bradley Kyser of Delaware, OH and Brian Kyser of Columbiana; two sisters, Jensie Wiant and Ethelda Hope, both of Canfield; two brothers, Frank Hofmann of Canfield and Jerry Hofmann of Leetonia; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A son, Charles W. Hofmann is deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Enzie Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
