East Palestine, OH-Durita F. Black, 70, of 6611 Justison Road, died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Boardman Campus following an eleven year courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Black was born December 30, 1940 in Salem, a daughter of Clarence and Mildred Griffith Cope and had lived in this area all of her life.
Durita was a nurses aide for Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 22 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Wallace L. Black, whom she married November 8, 1969; a daughter, Valerie Rimoldi Rader of New Galilee, PA; two sons, Kerry (Valerie) Rimoldi of Mansfield and Ronald (Tammy) Black of Salem; a brother, James (Paula) Cope of East Palestine; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Durita loved her family and will be greatly missed by her family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Mr. Gary Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
