Columbiana - October 6, 2006 - Duane Michael Bussard, age 16, of 603 Fairfield Avenue, died Friday at his home.
Duane was born April 20, 1990 in Huntingdon, England, a son of Robert G. and Cynthia Woods Bussard, Jr. and had lived in Columbiana for two years, coming from Rogers. He was a 10th grade student at Columbiana High School.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where he served as usher and was a member of the church youth group. He was a member of the Columbiana High School Soccer Team and previously played for Beaver Local High School. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop #18 of Columbiana and before that of Cub Scout Pack #14 of East Palestine. He was a former Marine Corps JROTC cadet at Beaver Local High School.
He is survived by his parents, of Columbiana; two brothers, Robert G. Bussand III with the U.S. Marines in Japan and Leighton Bussard of the home; his maternal grandparents, Ken and Anne Woods of Stamford, England; his paternal grandfather, Robert G. Bussard, Sr. of Salem; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Jo Bussard and his paternal grandmother, Bernice Little.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church with the Reverend Thomas G. Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday.
