Dorothy F. Senior

Leetonia - September 3, 2004- Dorothy F. Senior, age 85, formerly of Cherry Valley Road, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the Essex III of Salem.

Mrs. Senior was born November 19, 1918 in Hammondsville, Ohio, a daughter of Ernest and Helena Close Call and had lived in this area all of her life.

She had been employed as a packer at the Berg's Pretzel in Leetonia for 15 years and also operated a catering service in the area from 1958 to 1991.

She was a member of the Robbins United Methodist Church of Washingtonville and the Bethel Class of the church. She was also a V.I.M. member and past president of the Joe Williams Post #131 American Legion Auxiliary of Leetonia. She was a member of the Columbiana County Salon #432 8 & 40 where she chaired the State Nurses Scholarship Fund.

Her husband, Charles Wilbur Senior, whom she married August 23, 1937 died October 18, 2000. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. James (Barbara Jean) Sevenich of Wheaton, IL, Mrs. Victor (Kay Ann) Hedl of Leetonia, Mrs. Fred (Janice) Weiss of Brunswick, OH, and Ms. Joan Sipe of Columbiana; one brother, Ernest N. "Bud" Call of Lisbon, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Three sisters, J. Jean Hanna, Evelyn Reese, and Esther Koontz and a great grandson, J. J. MacPhee are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home where 8 & 40 services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
