Dorothy Jean Hostetter

Rogers-Dorothy Jean Hostetter, 83, 49725 Dyke Road passed away at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Salem Community Hospital. She was born October 6, 1927 in Rogers a daughter of the late Bartlet and Lillian Gertrude Wilson Gorby.

Dorothy attended St. Jacob United Church of Christ, Leetonia and lived in the area all of her life.

Her husband, Clyde Hostetter, whom she married September 15, 1949, preceded her in death June 8, 1982.

She is survived by a daughter, Adena Hostetter of Rogers; two sons, Glenn (Kathy) Hostetter of Leetonia and Ronald (Lisa) Hostetter of Rogers; two sisters, Hazel Ewing of Salem and Florence Barnhouse of Bethesda; four brothers, Herman (Vivian) Gorby of Columbiana, Clifford Gorby of Columbiana, Floyd Gorby of Negley and Lawrence (Lois) Gorby of New Waterford; two grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Fitzsimmons and Abby Fitzsimmons and one great grandchild, Gracie Fitzsimmons.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Harold, Glenn, Roy, Wilbur, Roland and Edwin Gorby and three sisters, Helen Minnamyer, Susan Gorby and Myrtle McCoy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana with Reverend Jenna Brown officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
