Negley - April 12, 2008 - Dorothy J. Fetterolf, 81, of 48602 Laredo Drive, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at her residence.
Mrs. Fetterolf was born June 23, 1926 in Connorton, PA, a daughter of Leslie and Anne Roland Hughes and had lived here 20 years, coming from Youngstown. She was a graduate of the Ashland Hospital School of Nursing, Ashland, PA through the Army Nursing Corps.
She had been a Registered Nurse at the Pleasant View Nursing Home, Lisbon, retiring in 2006. She had also worked as an RN at the Akron City Hospital, Green Cross Hospital, Pearl View Nursing Home, and Rolling Acres Nursing Home.
She had attended the First United Methodist Church, Lisbon. She sang in various church choirs and also had sung in several community chorales. She had a passion for playing bridge and was a longtime member of The Bridge Club.
Her husband, Peter A. Fetterolf, whom she married November 27, 1948 died April 14, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Sallie Jo Cherubin of Colorado Springs, CO; and seven grandchildren, Emily Lynn Fetterolf, Carly Louise Fetterolf, Peter Andrew Fetterolf, Angela Roe Christman, Candice Marie Fetterolf, Shannon Marie Fetterolf, and Kelly Ann Fetterolf.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Scott David Fetterolf and Randall Lee Fetterolf.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with the Reverend Charles Ready officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
