Dorothy L. Barker

Leetonia - December 27, 2005 - Dorothy L. Barker, age 83, of Leetonia, formerly of Wakeman, died Tuesday at the Blossom Nursing Center, Salem.

Miss Barker was born May 24, 1922 in Norwalk, Ohio, a daughter of Pearl and Margaret May Parker Barker. She served in the US Navy during WW II and then returned to Wakeman, OH and had worked for General Electric for 35 years. She enjoyed bowling and baseball and had also obtained her private pilots license.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Marie Barker and Helen Arnold and one brother, Robert Barker.

She is survived by her friend and caregiver, Lois Mesmer of Leetonia; a niece, Bonnie Parrish of Springhill, FL; a nephew, Edward Barker of Toledo, OH; and a sister in law, Joan Barker of Norwalk, OH.

There will be no calling hours or services. Interment will take place in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. Arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
