Rogers - Dorkis M. Artrup, 77, of 7901 Sprucevale Road, died at 4:40 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Artrup was born December 30, 1933 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Jacob and Nellie Lambright Melott and had lived in the area all of her life.
She had been employed as a castor at Hall China in East Liverpool for several years and retired in 1999. She was a member of the Rogers Assembly of God.
She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Campbell of Bangor, MI, Wilma Dean Redman and Carol Sue Schmidt, both of East Liverpool; four sons, Michael Crawford, Jack E. Artrup both of Rogers, William Crawford of East Palestine, and Rex Crawford of East Liverpool; seven sisters, Jaqueline Parsons and Claudia Pearson, both of Kentucky, Mary Hughes and Nancy Bowers, both of Rogers, Betty Gribben of East Palestine, Twila Flara of Newell, WV, and Linda Parker of Missouri; three brothers, John Melott and Keith Hebron, both of Rogers, and Terry Melott of Lisbon; 23 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Artrup; a grandson, Jack E. Artup; a great granddaughter, Arianna Morgan; a son, Randall Byrd; a daughter, Connie Mae Crawford; two sisters, Martha Hebron and Emily Weddle; and three brothers, Robert Melott, Jerry Melott, and Charles Melott.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Reverend Paul R. Wright officiating. Burial will follow at East Carmel Cemetery, Rogers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. Sunday.
