Doris L. 'Dottie' Yokley, 84, resident of Courtyard on Lexington in Salem, formerly of 7th Street Columbiana, passed away on the morning of December 25th, 2007.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents Faye Lillian and Harry Saunders Gordon, and husband Howard Yokley. Also preceding her were an infant son; brothers, Louis William and Herbert Leroy Gordon and sisters, Beulah Ruth Flaherty and Virginia Mae Hollabaugh.
Dottie is survived by a sister Elma Jean Krauss of Salem. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including nieces Catherine Hollabaugh of Salem, Teresa Quezada of Texas; nephews, Larry Symons of Virginia, Norman Symons of Georgia, Gary Gordon, of Texas and John Krauss of Salem.
Dottie was born in Salem and resided most of her adult life in Columbiana.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbiana.
During World War II Dottie worked on the shell line at the Salem Mullins plant. She also worked at the Russell Company and Franklin Furniture in Columbiana. Dottie was an avid golfer, and enjoyed spending time outdoors with her flower gardens.
Visitation will be at Warrick-Kummer Funeral home in Columbiana from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2007. Clarence Mansfield, Minister will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Fund of The First Christian Church of Columbiana.
