New Waterford - February 10, 2010 - Doris M. Hawkins, 78, of 5079 Unity Line Road, died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday at the Salem Community Hospital.
Mrs. Hawkins was born March 16, 1931 in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Earl E. and Mabel Forney Kyser and had lived in this area all of her life.
She had been a seamstress for Canvas Corner, East Palestine and attended East Fairfield United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Kenneth James Hawkins, whom she married in 1948 died, June 10, 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Cook of Leetonia; a son, Gary Hawkins of Austintown; a brother, Robert Kyser of Garland, TX; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Biscella and a brother, Earl Kyser.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2010, at East Fairfield United Methodist Church with Reverend Michael Namy officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
