East Palestine, OH - March 7, 2005 - Donald W. Terwilliger, 59, of 520 West North Avenue, died at 10:51 a.m. Monday at The Medical Center, Beaver, PA.
Mr. Terwilliger was born March 1, 1946 in Beaver Falls, PA, a son of the late Walter and Delaphine McCoy Terwilliger and had lived here since 1970, coming from Beaver Falls.
He had been employed as a steelworker at Koppel Steel, Ambridge the past 15 years. Prior to that, he had worked at Babcock & Wilcox in Beaver Falls for 18 years.
He served in the US Army Corps of Engineers in Vietnam and was a member of the George F. McBane Post #31 and the Edward L. McGuckin Post #4579 VFW, both of East Palestine. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge of East Palestine and had served on the East Palestine Board of Zoning Appeals. He had been active with the Boy Scout Troop and had also been a Little League Coach in East Palestine.
He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His quick wit and kind, listening ear will be sadly missed as well as his wonderful storytelling.
He is survived by his wife, the former Victoria A. Frumen, whom he married November 11, 1966; twin daughters, Mrs. Troy (Carly) Evans of East Palestine and Miss Corey Terwilliger of East Palestine and her fiancAC., Marcus Adkins of East Liverpool; a son, Benjamin (Kristy) Terwilliger of East Palestine; two special cousins, Mrs. Gail Duenkel and Mrs. Jan Wetzel, both of Pittsburgh, PA; and a brother, Gordon Terwilliger of California.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Church of Christ with Mr. Robert Helbeck, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the services at the church.
