Donald Eugene Hawkins, age 84, of 1061 Fairfield Avenue died at 11:30 p.m. Monday in the Salem Community.
He was born May 9, 1921 in Salem, son of Lee Stanley and Edith Estella Heck Hawkins and had lived in Columbiana all of his life.
He was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
During WW II, Don served in the Army Air Corps as a pilot of heavy bombers.
His wife, Eileen Louise Werner whom he married December 25, 1944 preceded in death October 22, 2005.
Four sons, James Hawkins of Sunrise, FL, Donald Hawkins, Jr. of Fairfax, VA, Mark Hawkins of Boardman and Timothy Hawkins of Reno, NV; a brother, Chester Hawkins of Denver CO; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him.
A brother, Willard Hawkins preceded him in death.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Jerusalem Lutheran Church with the Rev. W. David H. Conrad officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
The Honor Guard of the Benjamin Firestone Post #290, American Legion will render military honors.
