Donald E. Glossen, age 74, formerly of Creek Road, New Waterford, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Salmons Home Care, Negley where he had resided the past year.
Mr. Glossen was born October 8, 1930 in Wadsworth, OH, a son of Edward and Viola Roshon Glossen and had lived in this area all of his life. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He had been employed as a cupola operator at Columbiana Foundry, Columbiana for 40 years, retiring in 1992.
His wife, the former Helen I. Davis, whom he married January 12, 1970 died June 30, 1995.
He is survived by his mother, Viola Glossen of Columbiana; a daughter, Mrs. Pam Swickard of East Liverpool; a son, Timothy Glossen of East Palestine; two sisters, Gloria Ray of East Palestine and Evelyn McClish of Negley; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Reverend Joanne Dota, Chaplain at Hospice of the Valley officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memorial Gardens, Rogers.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the services on Friday.
