Donald "Jim" Firestone

Columbiana-Donald J. "Jim" Firestone, 85, of Columbiana, died at 4:52 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Firestone was born February 19, 1930 in Columbiana, a son of the late Walter and Thelma Mentzer Firestone and had lived in this area all of his life. He had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He had been employed as the Assembly Floor Supervisor at the former NRM Company in Columbiana. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Columbiana. Jim was also an avid golfer.

His wife, the former Barbara L. Toland, whom he married December 31, 1951 preceded him in death September 26, 2013.

He is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Himes, Cindy (Frank) Leonard both of Columbiana and Kimberly (Keith) Rees of Sterling, VA; three sisters, Doris Chapman, Becky Harrold, and Carole (Gary) Wright; a brother, William (Janet) Firestone of Sidney, OH; seven grandchildren, Adam Himes, Michael (Lita) Himes, Jennifer (Daniel) Morgan, Kristy (Robert) Wilson, Tiffany (Nathan) Nesselrotte, Amanda Logan and Logan Rees; and twelve great grandchildren, Jessica Himes, Kayley Himes, Lydia Wilson, Edward "Robby" Wilson, Makenna Wilson, Christian Leonard, Mackenzie Morgan, Lillian Morgan, Madison Morgan, Kadin Travis, Isabella Travis and Nolan Nesselrotte.

Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Bob Firestone.

Private funeral services will be held at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Sign the guest register and send condolences to the family at www.familycareservices.com
