Donald "Don" A Merreot

Columbiana - Donald "Don" A. Merreot, age 89, of Columbiana, died on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

He was born on November 1, 1934, in Columbiana, son of the late Allen and Bessie Stumbaugh Merreot.

Don was a graduate of Columbiana High School, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves and he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana. He worked for Columbiana Pump and went on to retire from Dodge Reliance Electrical in Mishawaka, IN. Don enjoyed fishing and hunting, along with woodworking and anything construction related. He was a loving family man and cherished the time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hull Merreot whom he married on November 3, 1956; three children, David (Colleen) Merreot of Saline, MI, Debra (Donald) Shelley of Canfield and Denise (Dave Baker) Merreot of Medina; five grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Shelley, Ashley (Anthony) Ostrosky, Jordan (Kristyn) Merreot, Brent (Krystal Morrison) Merreot and Kristin Shelley; eleven great grandchildren, Zachary Shelley, Brylee Ostrosky, Logan Shelley, Kane Merreot, Briella Merreot, Trenton Ostrosky, Couri Merreot, Rowan Merreot, Sophie Merreot, Finnan Merreot and Easton Ostrosky.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lamonte C. Merreot.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Cyndi Midlick officiating.

Burial will follow at Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana.
