Rogers- Delbert E. Hostetter, age 93, of Rogers, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown.
He was born on April 15, 1924 in Fredericktown, OH., the son of the late Jay G. and Emma Isabelle Dailey Hostetter.
Delbert was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. He was a charter member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Rogers and was employed by the International Mill Service, Midland, PA. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and country music.
Delbert is survived by his wife of 71 years, Gladys Huff Hostetter, whom he married on May 25, 1946; two daughters, Debbie (Roger “Rocky”) Sanford of East Liverpool, and Becky (Mike) Colella of Columbiana; a son, Marvin (Bonnie) Hostetter of Wellsville; two granddaughters, Kristen (Toby) Sanford Russ, and Jennifer Colella and fiancé, Jon Corvino; four grandsons, Jason Sanford, Michael Colella and fiancé, Lauren Scudder, Nick (Jessica) Colella and Tony (Katie) Colella; three great grandchildren, Jacob Sanford, Dominic Colella, and Julian Colella. Also surviving are his special neighbors, the Steffen family, Merabeth, Bob and Miles.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Rambo.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the VanDyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m.
Burial will be at the Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Tofil & the Staff at Whispering Pines Village, Columbiana for the excellent care they gave Delbert.
