Columbiana- David Scott Westlake, age 50, died on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on March 4, 1964, a son of the late Paul and Dorothy Cress Westlake.
David was a graduate of Columbiana High School and was a trained chef. He worked as a chef at Tippecanoe Country Club for close to 30 years. David enjoyed cooking but also enjoyed collecting model trains and working around his home. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed traveling. David really enjoyed the times that he and his late wife Ellen spent together at Geneva on the Lake.
His wife, Ellen Thompson Westlake, whom he married on May 16, 1992, preceded him in death on January 23, 2004.
David is survived by three sisters, Shirley (Scott) Anderson of New Waterford, Kathy (Rod) Smith of West Minster, MD and Sandra (Rob) Bacu of Charlotte, NC and a brother Roger (Peggy) Westlake of Palm Bay, FL.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 10AM – 11AM at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating.
Burial will be at the Columbiana Cemetery at a later date.
