New Waterford- David P. Wendel, 58, of New Waterford passed away early Friday morning, November 10, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.
Mr. Wendel was born April 17, 1959 in Buffalo, New York, a son of George and Marlene Wendel. He raised his family in New Waterford and had lived in this area most of his life.
David worked for Adolph Johnson & Son Co. as a Project Manager. David was a member of Columbiana Rotary where he had served as president. He was active in baseball and soccer refereeing as well as coaching his children in sports. He enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, and the outdoors. David was a DIY master fixer upper and loved his children and his family.
He is survived by his mother, Marlene Wendel of Angier, NC; his wife Terri Wendel, whom he married on June 16, 1984; his daughter, Deanna J. Wendel of Pittsburgh; two sons, Dustin A. Wendel of Canfield, OH and David P. Wendel, Jr. and his wife Ashley and son Cooper, of Aurora, OH; one brother, Ken; seven sisters, Barb, Linda, Tina, Laurie, Dianne, Carol and Jennifer; and his mother-in-law, Joyce Lacey of East Palestine.
Friends will be received from 5-8 pm Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
Private graveside services will be held at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday November 18, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Columbiana Park, Pavilion one, East Side.
Contributions in memory of David may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley.
