David D. Mitchell

Enon Valley, PA - David D. Mitchell, age 57, of Enon Valley, died on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Heritage Valley Health System, Beaver, PA.

He was born on July 24, 1958 in Beaver Falls, PA, a son of the late Dale and Mae Homesly Mitchell.

David was a member of Lake Mount Church of Christ, New Waterford and had worked as an antique dealer, owning and operating Summer Sands Tanning and Antique Shop, East Palestine for many years. He was very active with his church and was always willing to donate his time and labor. He was also very active as a founding volunteer with the Niki Feezle Cystic Fibrosis Explosion of Hope Foundation where he organized a fundraising car show every year. David enjoyed listening to music and watching the Steelers. Mostly he loved spending time with his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Failor Mitchell, whom he married on June 4, 1988; a son, Matthew D. Mitchell and a daughter, Brittany M. Mitchell both of Enon Valley, PA; a brother, Jonathan Mitchell of Rural Valley, PA; and a sister, Patricia Hacker of Winter Haven, FL.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
Services will be held on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Jason Pancake, Minister officiating.
