North Lima - David D. Claypoole, 96, of 1750 E. Middletown Road, died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Boardman.
Mr. Claypoole was born June 2, 1915 in Youngstown, a son of Edward and Elsie E. Taylor Claypoole and had lived in this area all of his life.
He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, North Lima and Allen Lodge #276 F. & A.M. where he was a past master. Mr. Claypoole had been employed for 35 years by Ohio Edison, first in the construction department and later as a truck driver. He retired in 1979.
His wife, the former Margaret Valinsky, whom he married August 12, 1939 died July 22, 2007. He is survived by a son, Robert (Diana) Claypoole of Columbiana; and three grandchildren, Jeff Claypoole, Chrisy Claypoole, and Sherri Claypoole.
He was also preceded in death by a son, David Claypoole and three sisters, Twyla French, Ruth Oltmeyer, and Becky Huston. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Calvary United Methodist Church with the Reverend Renae Meggitt officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Material tributes in David's memory may be made to the church memorial fund.
