Sebring, OH-David R. Bevan, Jr., 93, formerly of Columbiana died at 9:05 pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Crandall Health and Rehabilitation Center, Sebring.

Mr. Bevan was born May 20, 1921 in McKeesport, PA a son of David and Sarah Ferrall Bevan and had lived in the Columbiana area most of his life.

David worked as a general manager for Rex Machine in Lowellville as well as for the former Enterprise and Stamets Company in Columbiana. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana, the Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion, the former Columbiana Chapter #428 Order of Eastern Star where he served as past patron, and a fifty year member of the Allen Lodge #267 F & AM.

His wife, the former Wilda L. Steele, whom he married June 7, 1942, died January 30, 2009.

He is survived by his daughters, Bettie (Kirby) Fisher of Dexter, MI and Eva (Lloyd) Ellis of Solon; his son, David (Patricia) Bevan III of Blacksburg, VA; a sister, Ruth (Russell) McCoy of Batavia, IL; four grandchildren, Stephen (Susanne) Smith, Brian (Jennifer) Smith, Gwendolyn Ellis and David Ellis; and three great grandchildren, Amalia Smith, Heidi Smith and Tyler Reflow.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother and two sisters, Norma Conkey and Margery Ritchie.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana with Reverend Fritz Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.

Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Allen Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Material tributes in memory of David may be made to the Life Care Fund at Copeland Oaks/Crandall Health and Rehabilitation Center.
