Salem – Daniel Joseph Davanzo, age 24, of Salem, died on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at his residence.
He was born on August 16, 1991, in Youngstown, a son of David Davanzo and Jodi Frank Davis.
Daniel worked at Environmental Protection Systems in Girard.
He is survived by his father and best friend, David Davanzo of Salem; mother Jodi and John Davis of Leetonia; three sisters, Nicole Davis of Canton, Ashley Myers of Leetonia and Nikki Davanzo of Leetonia; three brothers, John Jenkins of Youngstown, Michael Riley of East Palestine and John Davis of Damascus. Also surviving are his grandparents, Daniel Davanzo of Poland, Joseph and Barbara Frank of Salem and Norene Zlatkoff of Campbell; and two aunts, Tammy Woods of Columbiana and Danette and Jim Fisher of Boardman.
His grandmother, Patricia Davanzo, preceded him in death.
Daniel was an avid sports enthusiast and University of Miami Fan.
He was 2010 graduate of Leetonia High School where he played basketball for nine years and football for six years. He was the varsity kicker for two years.
He placed 1st in the 2005 Knights of Columbus Regional Free Throw Championship and 2nd overall in the state for his age group.
He was a member of the Leetonia Eagles and volunteered and enjoyed working hands on with kids and LASA.
He was affectionately referred to by his friends as “Danchise” and will be remembered for his beautiful smile and contagious laugh.
There will be a celebration of his life at the Leetonia Eagles on Friday, December 4, 2015, from 6-10 p.m. "As we all know Dan would want everybody to have a beer!!!"
