With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Daniel Lee Badger, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world too soon on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the age of 45.
Born on January 16, 1980, Daniel had a passion for engines and machinery from the time he could walk. His heart belonged to anything with wheels and horsepower—especially his Chevy truck and his motorcycle, both of which were more than just vehicles to him. They were symbols of freedom, hard work, and the kind of craftsmanship he took so much pride in.
A natural-born mechanic, Daniel could fix just about anything. Whether it was rebuilding an engine, helping a friend with a late-night repair, or fine-tuning his bike, he did it with unmatched skill and heart.
But more than the machines he loved, Daniel will be remembered for his deep love for his family and friends. He was a protector by nature—strong, steady, and loyal to the core. The kind of person who showed up when it mattered, who had your back without question, and who made you feel safe just by being there.
He was the kind of man who’d give the shirt off his back, stay up all night to help someone in need, or drop everything to be by your side. His laugh was contagious, his heart was enormous, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline (Daniel) Magness of East Palestine; a brother, Thomas Badger of East Palestine; a sister, Shannon Badger of East Palestine; uncle, Samuel (Jan) Badger of Boardman; three aunts, Charlotte (Jerry) Fader of Liberty, Margaret (Alan) Horne of Sharpsville, PA, and Heather (David) Motter of Hubbard. Also surviving is a large circle of extended family and lifelong friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Schulte and his aunt, Elizabeth Badger.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 4:00 pm, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made in Daniel’s memory to: Angels for Animals, 4750 West South Range Rd. Canfield, OH 44406.
Though the road is quiet now, the sound of Daniel’s engine, his laughter, and his unwavering love will echo in our memories forever.
Ride easy, Daniel. We’ll carry you with us always.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
