Salem - June 11, 2008 - Clyde Albert "Red" Dotson, 87, of 1392 S. Lincoln Ave. #1 died at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday at his home.

Clyde was born May 7, 1921 in Lisbon and had lived in Salem for five years coming from Franklin Square.

He had been a machinist for Leetonia Fabrication and prior to that had worked as a mason in the area. He had also worked at Patterson & Smith Potato Farm.

Clyde was a member of the Franklin Square Methodist Church and was instrumental in organizing the Franklin Square Heritage Day in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Johnson whom he married July 26, 1954; four daughters, Mrs. David (Debra) Kibler, Mrs. David (Barbara) Rice, Mrs. Thomas (Connie) Moracco, and Mrs. Kenneth (Anna) Kibler all of Salem; a step brother, Homer Dotson of Columbiana; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A son, Clyde Dotson, Jr. and a grandson, Richard Pucci preceded him in death

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.

Private graveside services will be conducted on Saturday at the Franklin Square Cemetery with the burial to follow.
