Negley, April 20, 2004, Clyde E. "Ed" Dickey, age 67, of 51047 Richardson Street, died at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday at his home.
Mr. Dickey was born September 16, 1936 in Unity, a son of the late Robert and Elizabeth B. Wallace Candel and had lived in this area all of his life. He had served in the U.S. Army and had attended the Negley United Methodist Church. He was a self-employed truck driver for 26 years, retiring in 1999.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris A. Parker whom he married December 27, 1966; his stepmother, Dorothy Dickey of Negley; a son, Terry Dickey of Lisbon, a sister, Mrs. Jim (Darlene) Dangelo of Summitville; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Roger (Martha) Mitchell of Valrico, FL, Mrs. Terry (Nancy) Holtom of Vero Beach, FL, and Mrs. Ed (Carolyn) Derringer of Rogers; two grandchildren, Corey Dickey and Josh Dickey; several nieces and nephews and his best buddy "Boomer".
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arnold Dickey, who had raised him since childhood and a sister, Helen Wilson.
Private family services will be held in Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine. There are no calling hours. If friends desire, material tributes may take the form of a donation to Hospice of the Valley, P. O. Box 2398, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920. Arrangements were made by the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine.
