Clifford E. Sodergren

New Springfield – Clifford E. Sodergren, age 59, of New Springfield, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his beloved family in his home after a two-month battle with pancreatic cancer, on Monday, June 9, 2025.

He was born on March 4, 1966, in New Brighton, PA, a son of Ronald and Janice Sayers Sodergren.

Cliff had worked as a service technician, beginning his career at United Technologies, followed by Hankinson International, CH Reed Inc. and most recently, FS Compression in Export, PA. Cliff was a faithful Christian passing his love of Christ to his family and friends. He had a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, hunting locally, in Maine, and the Pennsylvania mountains. He loved fishing Lake Erie on his boat and giving others the opportunity to go. Cliff was selfless, always willing to help others. Mostly, he loved spending time with his family. Cliff will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cliff is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Fenchel Sodergren, whom he married on October 12, 1990; three sons Eric Sodergren of New Springfield, Allen Sodergren of Leetonia, and Andrew (Chelsey) Sodergren of New Springfield; two brothers, Jeff (Amy) Sodergren of Spartanburg, SC, and Matt (Lisa) Sodergren of Enon Valley, PA. Also surviving are his twin grandchildren, Phil and Lil Sodergren, children of Allen.

The family will be honoring Cliff by holding a private celebration of his life at a later date.

Cliff’s family would like to personally thank the kind and caring staff at Heartland Hospice for the compassion that was shown to both Cliff and his family during this difficult time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
