Clementine "Toots" M. Lanza

Columbiana - Clementine M. "Toots" Lanza, 86, of 1229 Columbiana-Lisbon Road Lot #77, formerly of Leetonia, died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Caprice Health Care Center, North Lima.

Mrs. Lanza was born November 22, 1924 in Warren, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances Manna. She was a 1942 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School in Warren. In 1951, she came with her husband and her children from Warren to work at the Main Street Market in Leetonia with her mother, Frances Vallone Burick and stepfather, Joe Vallone. She and her husband later owned and operated the store until their retirement in 1983. She lived in Leetonia 45 years, moving to Columbiana in 1996. She and her husband spent the winter months in North Fort Myers, FL for many years.

She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana, the Steel Valley Harmonica Club, the Fort Myers Harmonica Club, and the Grooving Grandpas and Ma.

Her husband, Charles J. Lanza, whom she married February 27, 1946 died June 19, 1992.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Lanza of Columbiana; two sons, Tom (Lettie) Lanza of Beaumont, Texas and Jay Lanza of Columbiana; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Lanza-Linn of Peninsula, OH, Carrie (Matt) Schreffler of Poland, Stephanie Lanza of Sherman Oaks, CA, and Thomas (Norma) Lanza, Jr. of Kerrville, TX; three great grandchildren, Hannah, Noah and Aaron; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles J. Lanza, Jr. in 1989.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana, with the Father Paul Tobin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Leetonia.

Friends may call at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial tributes may be made to the Caprice Health Care Center Activity Fund, 1984 Market Street, North Lima, OH 44452 or the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Association.
