Charles "Chuck" Mcneal

Columbiana – Charles “Chuck” McNeal, Jr., 72, of Columbiana, died, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at his home.

He was born, December 29, 1945, in Youngstown, a son of the late Charles W. and Ellen Jean Morrow McNeal, Sr.

Chuck served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He was a combat wounded Veteran, earning a purple heart, National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter (rifle), Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and bronze star. Chuck worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube and he owned and operated M&M Cycle and Machine as well as New Waterford Dirt Drags. He enjoyed drag racing, NASCAR, hunting, fishing and going to auctions, especially the Rogers sale.

He is survived by his wife, the former Judy Bray McNeal, whom he married October 10, 1973, two daughters, Jackie (Wayne) Finley of Columbiana and Jennifer (Shawn) Smith of Florence, AZ; a son Charles W. McNeal III of East Palestine; a sister, Becky (Ed) Ashburn of Port Charlotte, FL; a brother, David McNeal of Sevierville, TN, eight grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by a sister, Sue McNeal, brothers, Howard “Greg” McNeal and Don C. McNeal, Sr, and a Nephew, Jeremy McNeal.

No services were observed per Chuck’s request. Military honors were accorded by American Legion Post #290 and they Ohio Patriot Guard Riders.
