East Palestine, OH-November 5, 2012-Charles R. Beatrice, 88, formerly of East Palestine, died at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, OH.
Mr. Beatrice was born May 2, 1924 in Beaver Falls, PA, the son of Charles P. and Lillian Bowers Beatrice and had lived in the East Palestine area most of his life.
Charles was a 1953 graduate of Youngstown State University. He worked as an advertising executive for various companies including Sunshine Biscuit, Columbiana Ledger, Beaver County Times, East Liverpool Review/ Midland News and WBVP/WWKS Radio. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, East Palestine and served in the US Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, the former Sylvia Springer, whom he married October 10, 1954; a daughter, Amy (Stephen) Gross of Columbus, OH; two sons, Tod Beatrice of Woodbridge, VA and Timothy (Beth) Beatrice of Milford, OH; a sister, Gloria Gorby of Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gale Beatrice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Dr. Bob Bowers and Reverend Joanne Dota officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from noon - 2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
