Chalmer H. Morris

New Waterford, June 27, 2004, Chalmer H. Morris, age 83, of 5437 SR 7, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at his home of complications of kidney failure.

Mr. Morris was born May 13, 1921 in Signal, a son of Ray C. and Lura Kannel Morris and had lived in this area all of his life. He served in the US Army during WW II in the Pacific. He had owned and operated Morris & Son Milk Transport for 47 years. The past five years, he operated the Dairy Drive Ice Cream and Cheese in East Fairfield.

He was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church and the Milk Haulers Association. He is survived by his wife, the former Evalyn Louise Schmidt whom he married January 25, 1946; a daughter Mrs. Danny (Debbi) Shingleton of Columbiana; a son, James (Teri) Morris of New Waterford; nine grandchildren, Amy Jo Watson, Tony (Amy M.) Watson, Shayne Shingleton, Shawn (Renee) Louk, Josh Louk, Courtney Morris, Tyler Morris, Patrick Cox, and Kati Cox; and three great grandchildren, Isaac, Taylor, and Katelyn Watson.

Two brothers, Samuel and Donald Morris are deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Wednesday at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mitchael Hennessey officiating. Burial will follow in East Fairfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
