Cathleen C. Lipe

Columbiana-Cathleen C. Lipe, passed away early Saturday morning, April 23, 2016.

Mrs. Lipe was born April 4, 1930, a daughter of the late George and Jane Flynn Case and had lived in Columbiana all of her life.

“Cathy” was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, she loved to play cards, listen to music and most of all laugh with her family and friends.

She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana where she was involved in many activities including Jude’s Dudes and the Women’s Guild.
Cathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Richard Lipe and her son, Wayne Richard “Ricky” Lipe, Jr.

Cathleen is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Baker, Kellee (Keith) Crider all of Columbiana and Lisa Whitacre (Jeffrey) DeRose of Salem; her sister, Jane Henderson of Leetonia; her grandchildren, Shannon Baker, Neeko, Drew, Tye and Grant Crider, Michael and Brian Steele, Courtnie, Kayleigh and Aleah Whitacre; and seven great grandchildren.

Two sisters, Patricia Richardson and Ellen Grant and a brother, Robert Case preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, with Father Christopher Cicero officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, tributes in honor of Cathleen may be made to Hospice of the Valley or St. Jude Catholic Church.
