Catherine Ann Lavorata

Columbiana, OH - January 1, 2009 - Catherine Ann Lavorata, 67, of 42032 Madison Drive, died at 8:20 a.m. Thursday at Salem Community Hospital, Salem, OH.

Mrs. Lavorata was born October 28, 1941 in Fairmont, West Virginia a daughter of Dominick and Josephine Egidi Pellegrin and had lived in Columbiana since 1970 coming from Hamtramck, Michigan. She had been employed as a switchboard operator and office clerk for J.C. Penney Company in Boardman, OH retiring in 1994. Catherine was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana, OH.

Besides her mother of Fairmont, WV; she is survived by her loving husband, Larry Joseph Lavorata, whom she married June 17, 1961. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Cathy Jo (Robert) O'Donnell of Struthers, OH and Jodie Louise (Bradley) Kiehl of East Palestine, OH; a son, Larry J. (Jill) Lavorata, Jr. of Austintown, OH, an adored nana to her four grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony, Zachary, and Austin. Two brothers, John Pellegrin of Kingmont, WV and Richard (Kathern) Pellegrin of Fairmont also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana, OH with Reverend Thomas G. Ziegler officiating. Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. Sunday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will also be held at 12 noon Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairmont, WV with Reverend Robert Perriello officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairmont, WV.

Entombment will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Fairmont, WV.
