Catherine Gudat
Washingtonville - February 9, 2008 - Catherine Gudat, 92, formerly of Union Street, died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday at Essex of Salem I.
Mrs. Gudat was born August 5, 1915 in Salem, a daughter of Matt and Mary Hutter Ramsauer and had lived in this area all of her life.
She had been employed as a spot welder at WM, Inc. in Washingtonville for 20 years, retiring in 1977.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Washingtonville and the Saxon Club/Salem Retirees in Salem.
She is survived by her husband, Eric A. Gudat, whom she married June 20, 1936; three sons, Max (Marian) Gudat of Leetonia, Donald (Susan) Gudat and Ronald Gudat, both of Salem; a sister, Martha Lesch of Salem; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
A son, Walter H. Gudat and a sister, Mary Huber are deceased.
Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor William Medford, of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Washingtonville Cemetery.
Memorial tributes may take the form of a donation to the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
