Catherine Jane Grim

East Palestine June 23, 2006 -Catherine Jane Grim, age 89, of 1415 Brookdale Avenue died at 9:02 a.m. Friday in the Northside Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 23, 1916 in Negley, daughter of Roy and Mary Straub Huff and had lived in the area all of life.

Kate had been the Corporate Secretary for Robert Grim Welding Co. Inc, having been active until recently.

She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher.

She was also a member of East Palestine Chapter #381 Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Grim was an avid Steeler fan and an Ohio Buckeye fan.

Her husband, Robert O. Grim whom she married April 17, 1937, preceded her in death December 25, 1976.

She is survived by two sons, Richard L. Grim and his wife Marty, and Robert William Grim, all of East Palestine; three sisters, Mrs. Sara Cope of East Palestine, Mrs. Belle Custer of Rockwell, NC, and Mrs. Delbert (Gladys) Hostetter of Rogers; five grandchildren, Scott Grim, Lana Slepski, Rob Grim, George Neil and Katie Grim; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, the twin of Richard.

At her request, there will be no calling hours or service at this time, although there will be graveside service at a future date.
