Catherine M. Cross

Leetonia-Catherine M. Cross, 97, of Main Street passed away at 5:30 pm Friday, February 13, 2015 at Salem Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Cross was born June 27, 1917 in Messina, Italy, a daughter of the late Rosario and Rachel DiAgostino Romano and had lived in Leetonia since coming to this country as a child.

Catherine was a homemaker and member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Leetonia.

Her husband, Albert V. Cross, Sr., whom she married November 14, 1936 died March 6, 1987.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Roland) Hall of Leetonia; her son, Albert V. (Lola) Cross, Jr. of Washingtonville; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Her sons, Patrick and Richard Cross, her sisters, Helen Martinelli, Grace Cross, and Rose Chinni and a brother, Andrew Longo preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia with Reverend Robert E. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Sunday (today) at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.

Memorial tributes may be made to the St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund.
