Carolyn M. Parker Derringer

Rogers- Carolyn M. Parker Derringer, age 67, of Rogers, died on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic following a short illness.

She was born on December 20, 1948 in Darlington Twp., PA, a daughter of the late Gordon W. and Martha J. Brooks Parker.

Carolyn had worked for the United States Postal Service for 24 years, retiring from the Columbiana office in 2013. She was a hard worker who loved her job and loved helping others. Carolyn had a strong faith in God and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and working in her flower garden. Mostly, she enjoyed being at her home surrounded by the ones she loved most, her family.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ed Derringer whom she married on December 30, 1966; two daughters, Sara (Brian) Pease of East Liverpool and Shelby (Christopher) Sigler of East Palestine; three sisters, Martha “Mart” Mitchel of Valrico, FL, Doris Dickey of Negley and Nancy (Terry) Holtom of Vero Beach, FL. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Parker and Sophia Pease.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
