Rogers - March 6, 2009 - Caroline Cecilia Wilding Shell, 89, of 48012 Carmel Achor Road, went home to be with the Lord at 1:33 a.m. Friday at Hospice House, Poland.
Mrs. Shell was born January 19, 1920 in Berlin, PA, a daughter of Artie and Matilda Felton Sarver. She was a homemaker and had worked at Northside Hospital for eight years. She was a member of the Union Ridge Baptist Church. Caroline enjoyed quilt making, sewing, gardening, and was active in her church where she taught Sunday School.
She was preceded in death on June 20, 1969 by her first husband, Howard Wilding, whom she married on October 22, 1938 and on September 23, 1977 by her second husband, Charles William Shell, whom she married July 10, 1976. Two sons, Howard Wilding Jr. and the Rev. Charles Shell; a step son, Jerry Shell; four sisters, Daisy Sarver, Verna Miglets, Hazel Morrison, and Ruth Devanney and five brothers, Merle, Edison, Victor, Artie and Howard Sarver are also deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Richard (Tina) Wilding of Lowellville and Warren (Patti) Wilding of Boardman; three step daughters, Rena Schuck of Butte Falls, OR, Betty Davidson of Negley, and Suzanne Kinnick of Cleveland; 35 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Randy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday.
