Carol J. Stumpo

Columbiana - July 5, 2005 - Carol J. Stumpo, 68, of 333 West Salem Street, died at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Stumpo was born June 19, 1937 in Leetonia, a daughter of Kenneth S. and Elmira J. Johnson Koontz and had lived in this area all of her life.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia and the VFW Auxiliary of Washingtonville.

Her husband, Samuel R. Stumpo, whom she married June 29, 1957 died March 29, 1992.

She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Robin Stumpo and Rodney Bell of Leetonia; her companion, Jeffrey Pitzer; a sister, Brenda Drewnoski of Leetonia; a brother, John Koontz of Cleveland, nine grandchildren, Heidi Stumpo, Matthew Bell, Randi Bell, Valerie Bell, Derek Bell, Destiny Bell, Danielle Valentine, Malorie Valentine, and Aaron Valentine; and a great grandson, Troy Newlin.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Denise Valentine and Nanette Stumpo.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2005 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Leetonia, with the Reverend Edward Brienz officiating. The family will receive friends and family at the home of Danielle Valentine following the services at the cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
