Carol J. Redd

Columbiana-Carol J. Redd, 83, formerly of Leetonia, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2015, at Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.

Mrs. Redd was born November 29, 1931 in Washingtonville, a daughter of the late George and Elsie Wintersheimer Bell and had lived in this area all of her life.

Carol was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Leetonia.

She is survived by her husband, William A. Redd, whom she married December 13, 1997; three sons, Edward Ayers of Salem, Clayton Ayers of Beaumont, TX and John Ayers of Youngstown; five daughters, Diana Ayers of Alliance, Cynthia Ayers and Monica Hoperich both of Leetonia, Pamela Shriver of Columbiana and Marilyn Gabriel of Leetonia; two sisters, Minnie Brown of Lisbon and Genevieve Yeager of Salem; one brother, Joseph (Eleanor) Bell of Lake Milton; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton Ayers; two sisters, Mary Rodacay and Pauline Thrash; six brothers, George, Edward, Thomas, James, Richard and Charles “Charley” Bell and one grandson, Rick Perry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Leetonia with the Reverend Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Leetonia. No calling hours will be held.

Memorial tributes may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Mount Calvary Cemetery or MVI Hospice Care.
