Carl L. Fisher

Columbiana November 3, 2005 -Carl L. Fisher, age 93, formerly of Stanton Avenue died at 6:00 a.m. Thursday in Salmons Home Care at Negley.

He was born December 29, 1911 in New Albany, son of Francis and Nancy Patterson Fisher had lived in Columbiana for 80 years coming from Spencer OH.

He had been employed at the former Franklin Furniture Company in Columbiana and then at Wean United Engineering for 20 years, retiring in 1976.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Columbiana where he joined and was confirmed in 1927. He was the oldest man in church.

He served in Company B, 1524 Service Unit in the Army during WWII.

His wife, the former Esther Florence Burkey whom he married August 2, 1944, preceded him in death, November 23, 2002.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Jacquelyn) Mayer of New Waterford.

Three sisters, Mary Coppock, Myrtle Gross and Margaret Fisher; six brothers, Homer, Francis, Ray, Harold, Wilse, and Ralph Fisher preceded him in death.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church at Columbiana where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Cramer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery.
