Buhla Sarah Newcomer

East Palestine May 22, 2004 - Buhla Sarah Newcomer, age 95, of 2444 SR 170 died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday in the Caprice Health Care Center, where she had been for one and a half years.

She was born July 31, 1908 in Unity Township, daughter of Harvey Curtis and Louie Hadley Whitmore and lived in East Palestine area all of her life.

She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church at East Palestine.

She is survived a son, Glenn Newcomer of New Springfield; five grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Her husband, Lyman Newcomer, whom she married December 1, 1926 died September 2, 1979. A daughter, Dorris Ulbrich; a sister, Faye Rambo; and a brother, Olin Whitmore, also preceded her in death.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Hassel officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10:00 to the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
