Bruce Eric Bable

Columbiana, April 5, 2004, Bruce Eric Bable, age 46, of 233 Allen Avenue died suddenly at 6:35 a.m. Monday at the Salem Community Hospital after becoming ill at home.

Mr. Bable was born May 23, 1957 in Salem, the son of the Reverend Doctor Donald Bable and Miriam Cope Bable and had lived in this area all of his life. He was a 1979 graduate of Youngstown State University. He had been employed as a nursing home administrator at Copeland Oaks and the Crandall Medical Center in Sebring the past 10 years.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia where he had served on church council, the search committee and had been a Sunday School Teacher. He was currently serving on the Endowment Committee. He was a member of the Leetonia Lodge #401 F. & A.M. where he was serving as Junior Steward. He was also a member of the Alliance Kiwanis Club, the Columbiana Athletic Boosters and various card clubs. He was serving as the Columbiana High School Boys Swim Coach and was also a member of the state association of the APHOA for Nursing Homes.

Besides his parents, of Lakeside, OH, he is survived by his wife, the former Marcia L. Holt, whom he married June 21, 1986; two sons, Eric P. Bable and Alex L. Bable, both at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Mark (Beth) Gildenmeister of Bellevue and Mrs. William (Jill) Geiger of Columbus.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.

Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Leetonia Lodge will conduct Masonic Services at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
