Bonita "Bonnie" Guy

Columbiana- Bonita “Bonnie” Guy, age 59, of Columbiana, died on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown.

She was born on February 22, 1960 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ann Halas Brosko.

Bonnie was an honorary member of the Old Farts Motorcycle Club auxiliary and enjoyed riding with her boyfriend Darrel.  She had a knack for refurbishing and selling vintage items and enjoyed playing pool.  Bonnie also enjoyed spending time at the American Legion in Columbiana and visiting with her friends and neighbors.  She liked staying on top of local events and would listen to her police scanner on a regular basis.  Bonnie also enjoyed socializing on Facebook and sharing her knowledge and wisdom with her friends and family.  She loved people and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Bonnie may best be remembered by a quote she said often… “What a Long Strange Trip It’s Been”.

She is survived by her significant other, Darrel Brothers of Columbiana; three daughters, Betsy (Jesse) Ambrose-Miralia of Charleston, SC., Ruth Phillips of Columbiana, and Mickala (Aaron Brothers) Guy of Columbiana; a sister, Karen (Ron) Lofaro of Youngstown, and a brother, James Brosko of Boardman.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, Edward Siwiec, Lilith Phillips, Magnar Phillips, and Odysseus Phillips.

Bonnie was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Brosko.

The family would like to invite friends to join them for a celebration of life gathering on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post #290, Columbiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
