Bob Hurst

NEW WATERFORD - Final services celebrating the life of Bob Hurst, 48, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Bob was born on July 26, 1960, a son of John and Norma Wilson Hurst. He was a 1978 graduate of Beaver Local High School and was married on October 14, 1995 to his loving wife, Michele. For 13 years, they shared races, farming and spending time with their son. He was a kind and loving person to his family and friends and made time for everyone. He gave unselfishly throughout his life.

He had resided in Florida for 10 years, returning to this area in 1991. Bob lived a very full life. He was a dare devil and lived life on the edge. He was a jack of all trades, having worked as a plasterer for several years and last working as a truck driver for Fred Kloos Trucking.

Bob is survived by his wife, Michele; a son, Brandon Hurst of the home; two step daughters, Lindsay and Nicole Dickey of Lisbon; his mother, Norma Hurst of New Waterford; three sisters, Jean (Steve) Wolfe, Linda (Phil) Murphy, and Bonnie (Bob Boston) Hurst; a brother Fred (Dina) Hurst; seven nieces, Leora Wolfe, Leah Wolfe, Crystal Murphy, Katelin Hurst, Yvonne Ours, Abbey Bennett and Kyla Sanders; and six nephews, Jim Wolfe, Justen Whitehead, Andrew Whitehead, Patrick Murphy, Clayton Snyder, Cliff Snyder II, as well as, several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother in law, Vivian Sanders, a brother in law, Jerry Sanders, and a sister in law, Vicki Drotleff.

He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Hurst; his brother, John L. Hurst, his sister, Beverly Whitehead, and two infant sisters.

The family will welcome friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that material tributes take the form of a donation to a fund for Brandon's education.
